The 5 Skills Mentally Strong Athletes Have

FREE WORKSHOP FOR YOUR TEAM!

Coaches, you don’t know what you can’t see.

Mental struggles aren’t like a regular injury.

A player doesn’t go down on the field. You don’t see blood. You won’t see them in a cast or on crutches. They aren’t icing it after the game.

It’s subtle.

And can often go unnoticed, unless you know what to look for.

An athlete is dealing with a mental block if they:

  • Have inconsistent performances. One day they are great and the next they do terrible. It’s constantly up and down and you never know what you’re going to get from them.

  • Fear failure. They do everything in their power to not lose, make a mistake, or disappoint anyone. And as a result they play like a totally different player than you know them to be.

  • Practice better than they perform in games or competitions. You see them in practice killing it and then the game comes around and you’re left wondering what happened to the athlete you saw in practice?

  • Show a lack of resilience when faced with obstacles. If you notice they are easily discouraged when things don’t go their way. Or they dwell on what isn’t working instead of finding solutions.

You might know an athlete right now, that is struggling with one of these things but you didn’t notice it because you didn’t know what to look for.

Now, if you saw an injured athlete, bleeding, limping, in pain, would you ignore it?

OR would you go over to them, ask them what’s going on, and provide a doctor or athletic trainer for them to meet with?

I’m guessing you’d choose the second option.

So while you may not know why or how to help an athlete that is struggling mentally right now, it might be life changing to provide them with the resources to get them through their mental blocks.

And just like you might not know how to treat their physical injuries, you don’t need to know how to treat their mental struggles.

That’s where I’ve got you covered.

I’m offering free mental skills workshops for teams.

I’ve been in your athletes shoes. I know what they are going through. And I’ve worked with athletes for years to overcome their mental blocks and become the best athletes that they can be.

In this workshop I cover 5 skills that mentally strong athletes have. And each skill will be an effective tool your athletes can use if they are facing a mental struggle now or in the future.

They learn how to:

  • Build their confidence

  • Visualize success

  • Keep their focus in competitions

  • Mentally prepare in order to bring their best

  • Overcome challenges with resilience

Plus, your athletes will learn that mental struggles are just like any other injury. They happen. They are normal. And they should be addressed and taken care of so that they can be at their best in their sport (& life).

Email me today to schedule a workshop for your athletes!

This will be a 45 minute workshop with a Q&A at the end. Your athletes will leave with skills that take them from doubting their abilities to believing in who they are and the preparation they’ve put in. They will go from letting mistakes hold them back to knowing how to shake off a mistake and get the next play.

You’ll have a team of athletes building mentally strong minds, and a team culture that makes mindset a priority!

** The workshop is offered virtually and in-person in the California Central Coast area.

Hi, I’m Heather. I help elite athletes feel confident, develop resilience, and perform better.

As a former collegiate soccer player, I know firsthand the importance of developing a mentally strong mind that allows athletes to play with confidence and consistency. My coaching is the perfect blend of my experience as an elite athlete and my professional experience in the field of Sport Psychology at the youth, collegiate and professional levels.

As an athlete I never had a coach that mentioned the mental game. Sure they’d tell me to focus on have confidence. But they never gave me the “how”. So I stumbled through my playing career with mental struggles and no mental skills to overcome them.

Then, in college I discovered Sport Psychology and I knew immediately this was the field for me. I wanted to ensure athletes are taught about the mental side of the game. And I want to make sure athletes have the tools to over any mental blocks they are currently facing or might face in the future.

This is why I do the work that I do with teams.
